The main image denotes a man looking
through a window. The use of a close up is it shows the emotion of the
character. The darkness behind him shows he is dark/evil and there is light
coming from the window so he is looking at the bright side of him; which means
he is a bad person but he is looking at the good side of him. But it really
connotes people are confused about what’s going to happen to him in the film so
he looks scared trying to see what is happening outside his house but the man looks scared and he is focused
and suspicious.
The props he is wearing is a ring which
probably means he is married to someone and that shows he is dominate to his
wife and this probably suggests that he might have kids that he is fighting
for.
He is more then likely looking at a car
crash which comes back to him and he was in that car crash when he was looking
out the window.
The reason why the title is gold is because
it’s an Oscars winning DVD so it shows how good the film is. The testimonial review
quote “A beautiful mystery ”is effective because it shows it might be a
thriller and something to do with a mystery. It has special features this shows
that there is a bit of the film which hasn’t been put in only in the DVD
version of the film. After John Nash, a brilliant but asocial mathematician,
accepts secret work in cryptography, his life takes a turn for the nightmarish.
On the spine of the DVD cover we can see the title and the DVD logo on
the bottom of the spine there is also the picture of the front cover of the
film. It stands out because its dark with gold writing on the spine it also
says 4 ACADEMY AWARDS BEST PICTURE on the front page of the DVD cover.
This is a 14 plus so only 14 year olds and over are allowed to watch the
film it has violent scenes and also flashing images and mildly strong language.
The DVD cover represents a man dominating
the front cover. The front cover represents Russell Crowe looking scared
through the window. In the title it says “a beautiful mind” usually you would
associate a women with beautiful.
On the front cover there’s only a man so it
shows Angela Mcrobbie that the
stereotype of men in media is more dominate and women are subservient to men.
The setting is in a dark room where a blind
is used to gives a low key lighting and for him to look out of.
The film is about John Nash, a brilliant but asocial mathematician, accepts secret
work in cryptography, his life takes a turn for the worst by As time goes on,
Nash lives more and more within himself which causes major problems in his
life. But Alicia stands by her husband to his redemption to the Nobel Prize
win. Nash learns that his graduate school colleagues, with whom he had a
cordial but somewhat distant relationship, are closer friends than he imagined,
although in his later life he really does miss Charles' company more than
anything despite knowing that spending time with Charles is not in his or
anyone's best interest.
